US: Free News Media is the key for strengthening democracy

Phnom Penh: “News broadcasting system which is free and fair is quite crucial for the strength of democracy,” said Mr. Joseph A.Mussomeli. Presenting in a training course for Cambodian journalists on 21 December, Mr. Joseph said that election is the most perfect promotion for democracy and broadcasting media system servers as the first role along with its high responsibility for this. According to a research, about two-third of US residents has depended on broadcasting system that is the main source for gaining their news; however, they can not be adequately accessed the news about election campaign. Inspire of this matter, what each voter needs most and should be given is a free and fair news broadcasting media. With his positive expectation, Mr. Joseph said that Cambodia election process will be smoothly worked accompany with the sufficient and effective news broadcasting from this group of journalists who has been trained.
