The U.S. Embassy and the Royal Government of Cambodia will inaugurate a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise between U.S. Marines and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on Wednesday, November 30, at the Sunway Hotel beginning at 8:30 a.m. From November 30 to December 9, U.S. Marines from the III Marine Expeditionary Force will join the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces in a table top simulation focused on sharing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief response techniques to enhance professional relationships and coordination.
“This partnership is a tribute to our combined commitment to strengthen the relationship between the U.S. Marines and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, and provides another opportunity for the U.S. government to assist with enhancing the overall capacity of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces,” said Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., Jeff Daigle.
This humanitarian and disaster relief exercise will help to improve the ability of Asia-Pacific nations to work together effectively to provide relief and assistance in the event of natural disasters and crises. (Press Release of U.S. Embassy)
