Using Data in Evidence-Based Decision Making
Friday, January 29, 2010
Phnom Penh: You are cordially invited to the launch of DevInfo Version 6.0. The launch will take place at the Sokha Angkor Resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia on 2 February 2010
Only with appropriate, high quality data can governments measure progress and make policy choices. This event will show how best to use data for evidence-based decision making, through this new version of DevInfo. This database can also be used by development partners, civil society organisations, the media and the public at large to search for relevant and reliable facts and figures.
DevInfo is a software package adopted by the UN to help governments monitor the Millennium Development Goals. Policy makers and UN officials from several countries in the region will discuss the broader themes of country-led monitoring and evaluation systems, use of national statistical systems in support of policy and decision making, as well as innovative methods for data use and dissemination.
The new version of DevInfo incorporates the latest developments in information technology. The objective of version 6.0 is to help countries optimize the application of information technology for improved access, use and dissemination of human development data.
