Vietnam bans sand transportation to Singapore

Phnom Penh: Since 24 May 2007, Vietnam had banned the sand transportation from Cambodia to Singapore. The director of sand's company in Cambodia said that after his sand ship was banned and in a standstill for 15 days, his ship had to return back. Sun Chanthul, Minister of Transportation and Public work had asked to the Vietnam side that why there has been a ban sand transportation. The vietnam side will take this issue to discuss further. The sand transportation has once been supported by Prime Minister Hun Sen because it is a good way to restore the river.
