WATCH OUT, PHNOM PENH! THE NEW CAMBODIAN FILMMAKERS’ NIGHT
Thursday, August 26, 2010
Phnom Penh: There will be a film screening on Friday at Meta House at 7 PM. The film was produced by DMC student. How do young Cambodians perceive their own country and its recent development? Meta House presents student videos from the Department of Media and Communication (DMC) at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), the only degree program in journalism. Tonight we will show some of the latest thesis films, including shorts on the life of the former residents of the Dey Krahorm community in Phnom Penh, who were evicted from their homes in January 2009, a documentary on medical tourism to Vietnam, and a portrait of the old Hemakcheat cinema in downtown Phnom Penh. The sought-after DVD samplers of select student productions will be on sale tonight.
