We promise to prevent against AIDS/ HIV

Battam Bong Province: On 29 November, at Steoung SangKea Theater, there was a celebration for World against AIDS/HIV Day that will be on 1st December. During this ceremony, Mr. Nghem Bun Chhup, provincial health department president, said that this ceremony, 1st December, is always celebrated annually around the world since 1988. However, it just started in 1993 in Cambodia and firstly began in Battam Bong province in 1994. This ceremony aimed to prevent AIDS/HIV spreading in Cambodia by widely broadcasting through media and communities. In 2007, there is about 33.2 million of AIDS/HIV victims around the world, among them, 2.5 millions are children. This is the 15th anniversary that Cambodia celebrated this ceremony.
