Wedding day nearly coming, Groom attacked with acid

Pursat province: While traveling on a motorcycle to school, a maiden and her younger brother were attacked with acid and got serious injury. The event happened at 6:30 am on 21-March-2007 in the southern of Prakkdey pagoda in Loloksor commune Sompovmeas district.Sompovmeas police said that the victim’s name is Cheam Dary, 21, and her brother, Cheam Hour, 10 is the deaf mute. Both were sent to provincial hospital to save their lives. The defendant, Ourn Veasna, male, 18, got married two months ago, is the younger brother- in -law of the victim Cheam dary. Police detained the defendant for three hours after the event.
The injured woman said that on 21-March morning, she took her brother to the deaf mute School, Pursat School. When she arrived the southern of Prakkdey pagoda, Ourn Veasna followed her with a jar full of acid. She did not know that Ourn veasna had bad goal for her. When he reached them, Cheam dary and her brother looked at and with smiled at him. Suddenly Ourn veasna attacked acid in her face and went away.
Mrs. Moa Sarath the mother of victims said that her daughter is preparing to get married after Khmer New year, but now she did not know how injury is her daughter got. She added that a few days a go, she told her married daughter and her son-in-law Ourn Veasna that after her injured daughter gets married, she will stay in the room where Ourn Veasna and his wife are staying and Ourn Veasna and his wife move to another room. Her son-in-law Ourn Veasna was unhappy since. Then, the problem occurred.
