Worker Union Hosts Meeting on Upcoming Riot

March 23, 08: Cambodian Worker Union’s president Chea Mony had a meeting with 148 worker representatives from other garment factories. The meeting purpose was on a riot being planed by the union that might take place on March 27, 28 and 29. Chea Mony claimed that he has sent many letters about demanding for US$5 salary increasing on previous wage to relevant Ministries like Ministry of Labor, Ministry of finance and economics, and also to Prime Minister Hun Sen, but he has not received response yet. He proposed to increase salary of workers at the same time that the price of every thing is growing.
